'My Chinese Boyfriend'

Scene 1: A Domestic Interior - Time Unknown
I was in a house - a family home, which in the dream belonged to the parents of my friend, NN. NN's parents were present, as was NN and a number of other dream characters. I think that I was staying with them, although I am not sure. I was playing with a golden retriever dog when suddenly people started screaming. NN's dad came over and I noticed that there was a lot of blood on the pale beige floor - about a pint, splattered everywhere. I said: 'The dog must be hurt', but the dog was fine. NN's dad said that it was my period blood and I should not worry about it. He went to get something to clean the blood from the floor. I felt embarrassed about the situation and kept telling the people present that the dog must have cut itself and bled on the floor, although no-one believed me and they all knew it was my period blood.
Scene 2: A Different Domestic Interior - Time Unknown
I was in a different domestic interior - the house which belonged to the parents of my boyfriend in the dream. My boyfriend was Chinese and resembled my actual ex-boyfriend. HL. It was clear that my boyfriend's parents did not live in the house anymore, but we had been staying there. We were going to do a house swap and were preparing for this. My boyfriend was cooking some food at the oven/stove - I think it was spaghetti bolognese. I asked my boyfriend if we needed to pack belongings, but he said it was already done. I asked if we needed to clean the house for the new resident who would be moving in that day. My boyfriend reminded me that the house had already been cleaned the day before, by his parents and as I looked around the room, I remembered this and wondered how I had forgotten that fact. I saw a TV and a real open fireplace - the house was a typical family home with traditional decor. The lounge was next to the kitchen. The door to the back garden was next to the cooker and I could see that it was open. My boyfriend then 'remembered' that we had leftover food in the fridge and said that he should not have bothered cooking more, since we would only be in the house for a few hours and could not take the food with us.
I cannot recall anything else about this dream, but there were definitely some details I have forgotten. The way this dream is recorded does not reflect the length of it, as experienced in the dream state. The dream seemed to last a very long time and was much more vivid and intense than I am able to capture in the write-up given my dream recall was affected between the dream and me sitting down to write it up.

This dream did not reference my Dream Incubation Experiment or Eminem. I really enjoyed this dream - not the part where the period blood spilled onto the floor, because that was really embarrassing as it would be in real life. I enjoyed the part where I had a boyfriend as I seemed happy with him - maybe I have been single for too long! The dream seemed very vivid - I have simply forgotten some of the detail because my alarm would have woken my at around 11:00 hours (this was the time it was set for), but I cannot recall it going off or me waking up. Depending on whether I had this dream before or after the alarm went off and my sleep was disrupted, this may have affected my waking dream recall. I find it pretty interesting that I had a dream about my period starting and then woke to find that this had happened in real life - especially since I had not experienced any PMT prior to going to sleep (to indicate I was about to start my period) and my period was actually earlier than expected, so I could not have predicted it starting. If I recall anything further about this dream, I will record it below.
